The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Aquaculture (RGCA) the R & D arm of MPEDA have seeds and brood stock of various commercially important species such as Asian Sea bass, Mud Crab, GIFT tilapia and Scampi are readily available for supply to farmers.
Asian Sea bass: Around 9 Lakh no’s of larvae of 21 days old is ready ot supply with pirce Rs 4/- per seed form Sea bass Hatchery, Thoduvai, Nagapattinam Dist, Tamilandu.
Mud Crablets: Around 20,00 no’s of crablets are ready to supply form Aquaculture Demonstration Farm, Karaikal, U T of Puducherry. Price Rs. 15-23 per piece as per size.
All Male GIFT Tilapia: Aroung 5,00,000 no’s of seed will be avilabel to supply form Tilapia project, Manikonda Village, Krishna Dist and Andhra Pradesh. Price is Rs 2.50 per seed of 2.5cm size.
Scamp Broodstock & Seed:Around 20,000 no’s of all male seed is ready to supply form Scampi Project, Konathanapadu Village, Krishna Dist, Andhra Pradesh. The age fo the seed is PL 20 to 30 with a price of Rs 2/- per PL.Around 700 no’s of berried scampi broodstock are also available for sales.
