The Fish Genetics and Biotechnology Division of the ICAR – Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA), Bhubaneswar is organizing a training program on Bioinformatics Analysis of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Data at their headquarters from the 3’d to October, 2018. The objective is to provide short-term handson training to researchers and faculties in order to produce human resources for analyses of sequence data of diverse origin. The draft genome of Rohu and Magur fish species will serve as raw data for the analysis. The topics included in the training programme would be Introduction to Bioinformatics; Introduction to Linux and Perl; Introduction to big data generation; Transcriptome sequence analysis; Whole Genome Sequence Analysis and Setting up of a bioinformatics workstation: Basic requirements and considerations.
