The Society of Aquaculture Professionals (SAP) organized a SYMPOSIUM ON KEY TOPICS IN AQUACULTURE NUTRITION at Hotel Feathers on the 1st February 2018. This was SAP’s first initiative in a specialized discipline like nutrition and Dr. Victor Suresh, the convenor of the symposium suggested that this could be the precursor for more such programmes by SAP on Genetics, Health and Post Harvest Technology.
This meeting was primarily to ensure that technology advances are focussed on assuring that aquaculture feeds that drive the growth of the sector are produced sustainably. The Key speakers of the Symposium were Dr. Sadasivam Kaushik, European Research Area Chair, Ecoaqua, Las Palmas University, Gran Canaria, Spain, Mr. Martin Guerin, Founder & Director , Aquinov Services, Malaysia, Dr. Alberto Nunes, Associate Professior, Labomar, Brazil, Mr. Alexander Van Halteren, Nutriad Belgium, Dr. Fuci Guo, DSM Singapore, Dr. Alexandros Samartzis, Evonik Singapore, Dr. Narrotam P. Sahu, CIFE Mumbai, Dr. Biju Sam Kamalam, Scientist, Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research India, and Dr. Victor Suresh the convenor of the symposium and Vice President SAP.
