Cluster level training programme on clam meat processing and value addition

A cluster level training programme for clam fishers fo the Perumbalam village in Alappuzha district was organized at ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin on 3rd March, 2017. The programme was organized as part of a Department of Science and Technology funded project for developing clam cluster and setting up of clam processing facility at the village. The fishers form the clusters in the regions of Panambukad and Perumbalam South regions of the village participated in the first stage of training series. The traning focused on processing of clam meat and preparation of ready to eat products like clam samosa, cutlet pickle and bonda. The training programme was led by Dr.Nikita Gopal, Dr.J Bindu, Principal SCIENTISTS AND Mr. S Sreejith, Scientist.
