Virbac Animal Health Pvt Ltd organized a seminar for aqua farmers on 6th march 2017 at Ananda Function Hall, Bhimavaram, West Godavari, and Andhra Pradesh. To address the queries of the farmers, Virbac invited a technical team from France as key speakers. Around 600 aqua farmers, dealers and technicians participated form Bhimaaram, Veeravasarm , Palakol, Mareteru, Attili, Akiveedu, kaikalr and Kalidindi areas.
Mr. M.V.VSatyanaryana, Virabac regional business manager welcomed all the farmers and dignitaries and introduced the key speakers to the audience. The speakers were Mr.Pierre Henning; Global Aqua Director Mr. Phillippe Mahl, Technical Director, Mr. Phillipe Joyes; Business Director,Mr. Amir Khalil; Area Sales and Marketing Manager, Thailand and Dr. Sujit Kumar; Marketing manager.
Mr.Pierre Henning explained about VIRBAC, its business, global operations and future projects to the farmers.
After Mr.Pierre, Mr.Amir Khalil made a presentation on the international shrimp market and gave an update on the diseases being faced by the aqua farmers across the globe. He discussed the evolution of the farming practices between 2010-2016 in China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand.
He elaborated on the differences between disease and syndrome, pathogens in aquaculture, White Faeces Syndrome, Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) White Faeces, Gregarine White Faeces, Vibrio White Faeces Acute Hepato- pancreatic Necrosis Disease (AHPND).
